Royston Turquoise Cuff on Patterned Sterling Silver
Royston Turquoise Cuff on Patterned Sterling Silver
A large, 26.5 carat oval green Royston turquoise cabochon is surrounded by 999 fine silver. I've added a faceted sterling wire design surrounding the stone. The band is thick rectangle silver that I've put through my rolling mill with an organic floral design. The piece has been given a patina on the silver and it has been given a distressed finish. It is stamped .925 and has my makers mark. Great everyday piece of jewelry that is also heirloom quality!
The cuff measures 5.50 inches with 7/8 inch gap and best fits a small/medium wrist. It is somewhat adjustable as a one-time sizing (bending it too much will weaken the silver and could possible crack it over time). The face of the setting (including the silver base) measures 1.45 inches by .92 inches. I ship using USPS First Class with tracking and a signature confirmation.
Originally the Royston mining district was controlled by Lee F. Hand. The Royston is a mining district in Nevada outside of Tonapah that originally consisted of four old Turquoise claims: Bunker Hill, Easter Blue, Oscar Wehrend, and Royal Blue. The Otteson story began with Lynn Otteson and family. In 1944 Lynn Otteson and family came to Nevada to mine Turquoise. He leased a Royston claim from Lee Hand, at that time there were a couple other claims being leased by other miners. The Royston District covers several miles of mt. range which includes numerous claims, at that time Lee controlled approx. 30 claims in this district. The Otteson family has owned or leased claims in this district off and on for the past 60 years, with friends and family as partners.

Care Instructions
Jewelry should not be subjected to lotions, sprays or any chemical, as damage to materials may result. If a light cleaning is needed, usually a soft, water dampened cloth will do the trick.
Items can be stored with an anti-tarnish strip or you can polish pieces with a Sunshine cloth. The more a piece is worn, the less it tarnishes due to body oils.
A person's body chemistry may cause changes to metals. Renaissance wax is a commonly used sealant to prevent these changes. My items are not sealed unless expressly stated in listing description.
